The Woodwind Family
lThe woodwind family gets its name from the process of blowing air across a wood reed in order to produce a sound.
lAll of these instruments use reeds except for the flute. Reed cost can range from $15-28 for a box of 10 reeds, (depending upon instrument & reed brand), which contains approximately ten reeds, and students will go through about two reeds per month in a regular practice schedule.
